Natalynn Meets Her Brother

A few hours later Brigham went home to get our "Chinnie" and bring her to the hospital. When they arrived I acted like she was my whole world. We tickled, snuggled and ate breakfast together. Then Bridger made a noise behind her. She turned around with a funny look on her face and realized there was a baby! She was very interested. We introduced them and reminded her that she has a present to give him. She grabbed the gift bag that she packed herself and proudly placed each little item in the bassinet. Then she received her gift from Brother- a baby doll!
Bridger soon cried and after picking him up, Natalynn insisted, "Baby crib" several times (I was not yet allowed to hold him). Later, when trying to coax her into holding her brother she refused with another, "baby crib." Later she finally held him and she has grown to love him more and more each day.

Any time a nurse would come and take vitals or bathe him, she had to be right there to personally be sure that they would not harm him. To this day she hasn't shown jealousy, only protectiveness.

The next evening she was very excited to bring him home and helped to buckle him in. She also enjoyed having a buddy in the back seat.

December 29 2007- a great day

On December 29 2007 we received a new addition to our little family- Bridger Brigham Davies! He was 9 lbs, 5 oz and 21 inches long. So the story goes...

3:30 a.m. I awake to some light cramping about 8 minutes apart. My first reaction is anger- this baby is ruining our holiday birthday streak. How can he manage to avoid 8 days of hanaukkuh, kawanza, christmas eve, christmas, new years eve and new years day?

4:05 we arrive at the hospital and it seems to take forever to get us checked in. When they check me I'm 9 cm dialated. They call the on-call doctor to come to the hospital while I try my best to hold the baby in.

4:45-4:50 the doctor finally arrives. He breaks my water and I push once or twice (resulting in a nice little shower of amniotic fluid for the doc) and we have a boy! He favored us with yet more bodily fluids of urine right away.

Bridger was an adorable chubby little guy with fat cheeks and peach fuzz shoulders. We were able to keep him for about an hour before the nurses took him to weigh and measure. I loved the way he looked at me for the first time and I knew that he knew me and recognized my voice and scent.

Chinnie

We tried to teach Natalynn to say "What's up
Dude?" but she insists on "Wake up Dude!" She says this whenever she puts on her sunglasses.

Kenzie has recently decided to call herself Chinnie. We think it came about because she couldn't say Kenzie but now that she can she will actually correct you if you call her Kenzie. Other acceptable alias: Natalynn, but she says "Nananynn"

This is Chinnie's first time eating snow
